It is the end of World War Two and the soldiers are returning home. Avant-garde bard Balthasar is eager to join the celebrations, but his band mates, Beatrice and Benedick, are not getting on. Can Balthasar devise a plan to reunite the divided pair, or will his dreams of the band playing be spoilt by their arguments?

‘A Muddle in Messina’ is a brand new storytelling show, created by Filament Projects and Stute Theatre, in association with world-renowned theatre company Northern Broadsides. Suitable for children aged 4-11, this entertaining introduction brings ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ to life for young and family audiences.

This performance is accompanied by an interactive map of Messina with videos, music, activities, resources and cast music. This performance is part of a wider education and outreach project in collaboration with OohAar and supported by Arts Council England.

As part pf this project, Lead Artist Sophia Hatfield delivered Shakespeare workshops in colleges and high schools across the UK.
