The Fairhaven Story Stall
The Fairhaven Story Stall
The Fairhaven Story Stall is an open-air theatrical encounter inspired by stories collected from members of the local community living on the Fylde Coast and the historical Fairhaven Lake, between Lytham and St Anne’s.
With original songs and music, inventive storytelling and family-friendly theatre, this show tells a selection of stories from the area’s past, present and looking towards its future.
Story-gathering workshops facilitated and recorded by Sophia Hatfield, resulted in a beautifully crafted script and edited sound recordings of the stories in their original form, which will be handed back to the community, alongside a story booklet created by artist, maker and illustrator Cath Ford.
This show was commissioned by the Heritage Lottery Funded project at Fairhaven Lake, written and directed by Sophia hatfield, designed by Cath Ford and performed by Sophia Hatfield and actor Patrick Bridgman. It premiered in the gardens at Fairhaven Lake on Saturday 3rd August 2019.
